First Look: Battle Beast vs. Colossus and Juggernaut Is Pure Chaos in Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #8

Skybound and Image Comics just unleashed a first look at Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #8, and fam… this one looks like pure comic book chaos in the best possible way. The next savage chapter of the smash-hit series from co-creator/writer Robert Kirkman (Skinbreaker, Void Rivals), co-creator/artist Ryan Ottley (The Amazing Spider-Man), colorist Annalisa Leoni (Cobra Commander), and letterer Rus Wooton (The Walking Dead) storms into comic shops on April 15, 2026.

And this issue? Oh, it’s bringing the pain.

Battle Beast vs. Colossus… AND Juggernaut?!
That’s right — Juggernaut and Colossus are looking to turn their little family reunion into one gigantic beatdown. Problem is, Battle Beast didn’t come to play nice. He came to throw hands, break bones, and leave bodies. The only question is: can they take him down before he tears through both of them first?

And that’s not all…

There’s also a bigger storm brewing in the background, because the Viltrum Empire is clearly cooking up something nasty. So while fists are flying and egos are exploding, the bigger picture is getting even more dangerous.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #8 will feature a killer main cover by Ryan Ottley and Annalisa Leoni, plus a stacked variant lineup that collectors are gonna be hunting down hard. That lineup includes an open-to-order cover by Ryan Sook, a connecting 1:10 incentive variant by Chris Burnham and Brian Reber, a 1:25 incentive variant by Cliff Rathburn, a 1:50 incentive variant by Baldemar Rivas, a 1:100 incentive variant by Lorenzo De Felici, and an open-to-order I Hate Fairyland Team-Up cover by Ryan Ottley and Annalisa Leoni.

And let’s keep it real — Skybound is not playing around with Invincible Month in March 2026. They’re going full beast mode with a month-long celebration packed with the return of Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, reprints of the hottest in-demand issues, brand-new collections, and a flood of Invincible team-up variants across Image Comics titles. All of it is perfectly timed with the arrival of Season 4 of the hit animated series on Prime Video.

Bottom line?
Invincible is scorching right now, and 2026 is only turning the heat way, way up.

And then there’s Invincible VS, Skybound and Quarter Up’s brutal, tournament-ready 3v3 tag fighting game, coming in with that first-of-its-kind comic shop exclusive flex. Fans will be able to grab both the Standard Edition for $59.99 and the Collector’s Edition for $109.99, with each bundle featuring an Invincible #1 variant cover showcasing all-new art from Invincible co-creator Cory Walker. The Standard Edition will also include direct market exclusive packaging with artwork from Walker, giving comic shop fans something extra nasty to brag about.

So yeah… between Battle Beast throwing down with Marvel heavy-hitters, the Viltrum Empire lurking, Season 4 on deck, and a new fighting game ready to crack jaws, one thing is crystal clear:

The Invincible Universe is eating in 2026. Big time.
