I Hate Fairyland’s Gert Leads Image Comics Team-Up Variant Event This April

When Image Comics started rolling out those Spawn team-up variants, Gert rolled her eyes so hard Fairyland tilted off its axis. Youngblood team-ups? That’s when the axe came out. Invincible variants? That’s when she lost it completely and screamed for the whole multiverse to hear: “I HATE TEAM-UPS!”

And now? Image Comics is going full chaos mode this April.

To celebrate the massive milestone of I Hate Fairyland #50, Image is unleashing a full-scale Gert invasion. We’re talking covers hijacked. Logos flipped. Fairyland energy splattered across some of Image’s hottest ongoing titles all month long. Gert and her unhinged crew aren’t guest-starring politely — they’re taking hostages.

Every participating book gets a glow-up… or maybe a glow-down. Title logos are being reworked to match that unmistakable I Hate Fairyland aesthetic — loud, colorful, slightly unhinged, and absolutely impossible to ignore.

Let’s not forget: created by Skottie Young, I Hate Fairyland #1 first exploded onto shelves back in October 2015. Since then? Multiple sell-outs. Multiple reprints. Critical love pouring in from all sides. It’s not just a cult hit — it’s one of Image’s most popular and bestselling ongoing series, period.

Issue #50 isn’t just a milestone. It’s a warning.

Gert’s mad. The axe is sharp. And Image Comics is letting her run wild.
