Dark Horse Comics unveils Witness Point #1, a new Midwest noir comic series by Nathan Fillion, Heath Corson, and Soo Lee.

Dark Horse Comics is bringing the heat this summer with Witness Point, a gritty new four-issue comic book series that looks ready to slice straight into the heart of noir fans everywhere. This blood-soaked Midwestern thriller comes from actor Nathan Fillion, screenwriter and comic author Heath Corson (From the World of Minor Threats: The Brood, Animal Kingdom), and award-winning artist Soo Lee (Carmilla, Kingdom of Earth). If that creative lineup wasn’t already enough to make your comic-loving soul do a double take, Witness Point #1 will also hit shelves with cover art by Soo Lee and Shawn Martinbrough with Chris Sotomayor when it lands in comic shops in July 2026.

Welcome to Baraboo, Wisconsin — a small town packed with cold beers, warm hearts, and enough Midwestern charm to make you think nothing bad could ever happen there. It’s even home to the Ding-A-Ling Circus. Sounds wholesome, right?

Yeah… not so fast.

That cozy picture gets ripped to shreds when the naked, dismembered body of a U.S. Marshal turns up in the town square, exposing Baraboo’s horrifying truth: this quiet little town is actually the dumping ground for the Witness Protection Program. For forty years, every criminal, grifter, snitch, and killer who sold out their old crew has been relocated to one place — Witness Point.

Now the town is a pressure cooker ready to explode.

Local sheriff Carter “Kite” Calhoon, worn down but still standing, is forced to team up with deputy marshal Priya Khabrani, and let’s just say this ain’t exactly a buddy-cop friendship bracelet situation. Together, they’ve got to solve the murder before Baraboo’s beloved Harvest Festival kicks off — while paranoia spreads, tempers flare, and everybody starts wondering what kind of monster might be living right next door.

This is the kind of setup that screams page-turner. Small-town smiles. Big-time secrets. And enough buried darkness to make the whole place feel like it’s one bad day away from total collapse.

“Heath pulled me into his world with Witness Point, and I immediately knew this was a story that would lend itself to a comic series. I’m excited to be collaborating with the incredibly talented and celebrated artist Soo Lee, whose recent work on ThunderCats: Cheetara, The Wizard of Oz, and Disney Villians: Maleficient is nothing short of extraordinary,” praised Fillion. “Working with Soo, alongside my partners at Collision33 — Michelle Chapman and Josh Levy — and the team at Dark Horse Entertainment to bring this engaging story to life has been a thrill. I love this project and can’t wait for readers to experience it.”

“Nathan is an intuitive storyteller who imbues every medium he works in with his quick wit, iconic characters, and bottomless humanity,” said Corson. “I feel like we’ve managed to siphon a decent amount of it into Witness Point.”

Lee added, “Witness Point isn’t your typical crime story that you think it is, so I wanted it to reflect that in the art as well. The setting is unusual with unusual suspects and characters, in all sense of the word so I wanted the colors and visuals to match that.”

Witness Point #1 (of 4) arrives in comic shops on July 8, 2026, and is available now for preorder through your local comic shop for $4.99.
