Denver DINK 2019 Convention Review

This weekend  Comic Crusaders was fortunate enough to attend the hottest event in the Denver area this weekend. Of course I am talking about Denver DINK 2019 in beautiful downtown Denver Colorado.  The Denver Indie Comic & Art Expo(DINK) always puts on a fun event, and this year was no exception. So come with me as I break down each day.

Day 1:

Day one was a big turn out. Lines ran smooth and everyone seemed really excited to be at the event. DINK offers so much, from live music to food trucks, to great exhibitors, its alot to take in. Upon arriving, you are instantly greeted by a sense of fun with the live bands that they have playing.

Once inside we had a chance to see so many tables set up, with people spending the time to get to enjoy the artists. I find this a very special treat for a convention because I feel so many people overlook the talents of the event who are there. We did have time to check out a panel on day one, and the panel on professional wrestling that wasn’t a bad event at all.

After that, we decided to go back up and chat with various artists about what they were working on, and a bit of fun with a scavenger hunt that was happening at the event, but more on that later. Overall day one provided alot of fun from our vantage point.

Day 2:

Sunday provided alot of fun as well. i will go on record to say that Sunday I found alot more fun then Saturday. Made a point to see more of the show and soak in the culture that DINK provides.

I want point out a very fun panel I went to because the panel was very educational and very engaging. The name of the panel was called ‘Narrative Art Outside of Comics: Storyboarding for Film and Agencies.’ And it was hosted by Brian Essig-Peppard. I feel Brian really conducted his panel discussion with real insight and a  fun attitude. It was great to see people ask questions and the info he provided was just great.

After the panel, we decided to check out the Dog Cosplay contest and that was a nice treat as well. I think the variety here that DINK offers is such an amazing thing. From t here we finished our scavenger hunt, and the folks at over  Birdy Magazine were kind enough to reward us with some amazing items to take home. If you get a chance, please go check them out.

Overall, DINK 2019 was an amazing show. if you get a chance next year, please take the time to attend, because it’s such a unique event, that offers so much for those who love the Independent Comic and Artist scene.  A very special thank you to everyone who made DINK 2019 possible!
