Afterlife Inc. Vol 5. continues the tale of con-artist Jack Fortune, who, following his untimely demise, discovers an afterlife in chaos and proceeds to take over and run it like a business. He has successful constructed a team that he can trust to help him but now the bloom is definitely coming of the rose, and it is taking a toll on Jack. But there is no rest for the weary as an new upstart called Arjun Arcadia, looks to challenge his methods and authority.
So many scenes and art styles that made this volume amazing. The Afterlife Inc. narrative tends to jump around so it helps that the art by Kit Palmer and Co. went a long way into demonstrating the fact that there is are limited descriptions given in the Bible of what some of the Angels look like in their true essence. In the Afterlife, although angels do not have a physical form exactly like humans, they do have some type of localized form – they occupy some space s terrifying as it is depicted here. Whatever their normal form is like, it is a form adapted to the unseen spiritual realm.
In Afterlife Inc Volume 5, there are several elements that are reminiscent of a few other franchises such as: it brings in the charm of Lucifer, the diverse deification world building of American Gods, and the deep exposition of The Good Place.  The insights shared in Afterlife Inc. are unique, which makes me wonder why it hasn’t been optioned yet? It is way better than most of the stuff scheduled. In the meantime we will have to sit patiently for Volume 6 to come out.
