Review: Black Cat #2

Black Cat #2 Cover A Regular J Scott Campbell Cover

Felicia Hardy prides herself on the fact that she can get into ANYWHERE… but does that REALLY include Doctor Strange’s SANCTUM SANCTORUM?! Can the Black Cat get into the most protected house in the Marvel Universe? YES. But the question really is… can she handle what’s inside?

When we left of with Black Cat in issue #1 we were introduced to  Black Cat“s crew along with an appearance by the Black Fox, who apparently was here father mentor. All this was in among the backdrop of our main character in the middle of a heist.

In Black Cat issue #2 the same crew is joined by Xander the Merciless and old Dr. Strange Foe.  The Creators summoned Xander long ago as a defense against Dr. Strange, whom they saw as a threat to their goals of Universal domination (Dr. Strange #20, 1976).

Let’s not fake the funk on this.  I am just here because I expect really good interior art from Travel Foreman and even though some of the Black Cat covers are awesome, was expecting foreman to show off his talent on the interiors a lot more.  There were several panels, where it would have made sense to go into detail, but it was sacrificed for dialogue.

The shame about the some of the covers is that the ratios were so high its hard to tell if the interest were in the books organically or if it was just because of the high ratios.
