Review: Glint

Act 1: We are introduced to Eleona a the high priestess of the planet Mora and Supreme Regent Murc the General of the Blessed Blood an Army whose stated mission is defense of  Mora and the Sacred Temple.

Act 2: We are introduced to Val and Loon.   Loon is young Moran who belongs to a family that principally mines Glints to survives.  Val is his best friend who has just been enlisted as a soldier in the Temple of the Sacred Defense, with dreams that one day he and Val might be able to leave the mining life behind.  We are also introduced to Loon’s Mother who is sick from Glint exposure, who appears to be anti-military in her leanings for reasons not yet explained. We also meet Loon’s grandmother Frann, a retired pilot in the Sky command, who currently is a miner and whisks Loon away to go mining for glint.

Act :3 We meet the daughter of priestess Kee Dren, a rebellious kip who  sneaks out to go covertly  slumming down with the miners, luckily for grandma Frann takes her under her wing because Kee doesn’t know anything about the streets. But the main event that we are marching toward is that a contingent of the soldiers from the Temple of the Sacred Defense have been sent to a hive to scout for glint stores.

The Verdict: Pretty good it was an easy ready. The transitions between the different scene were seamless and logical.  I am definitely looking forward to reading Book 2.  However there were a couple of panels in Act one where I just had no idea what was going on.  and some of the characters were hard to distinguish from the others.  The concept is interesting but right now I’m not sure if it has found a style  that would make it a pick for transitioning to another medium. Otherwise I can’t wait for the next issue.
