Superman #12: The House of EL PT 6! bringing the long story-line to its conclusion. DC has been working on this Supergirl and Superman crossover for a while now in an attempt to add on the Superman mythos while also bringing the surviving Kryptonians together in one book.
- Superman: Has been trying to negotiate peace with three different races of Aliens, while trying to teach his son Jon life lessons.
- Jon Kent, who, I don“t know why Bendis chose to have join his grandfather only to return a teenager. But he now has a new teleportation suit that can transport him anywhere across the Galaxy.
- Jor-el: Superman’s long lost father is being targeted for an ambush by a trilateral Intergalactic Squad of three alien races battling it out around Jor-El’s ship……. or for Jor-El’s ship are the Khunds, the Thanagarians and the Trilium Collective (Gandelo from Supergirl’s race).
- Rogol Zaar and General Zod have formed a phantom zone brigade are part of one of the groups that hope to ambush Jor-el having just broken out of the Phantom Zone. Superman #12: moves us toward tying up a plot hole that had. I found it it hard to accept that they would even entertain the idea of working together. Zod is a Kryptonian patriot working with the being behind Krypton“s destruction. Zod would never cooperate with Krypton“s destroyer and Zaar absolutely detests anyone and anything Kryptonian.
- Supergirl: Has just returned from her own adventure in which she winds up wielding Rogol Zaar“s deadly axe, and has just found out the truth ”¦ that her newfound friend Z“ndr“s mother, Gandelo as part of the Circle was responsible for the destruction and cover up of her home planet (The Man of Steel (Volume 2) #1).
I thought that this was a great issue. Dealing more or less with the fallout of everything that has happened up until this point. It“s also important to note there were a lot of loose ends up in the air, and Bendis was full on signaling his intentions to wrap them up . This issue had a strong focus on family, and the emotion fallout that snap judgments can have and the art team did a fantastic job of displaying those emotions of loss, confusions and having what was one lost returned to you.
Ivan Reis“ penciling, Alex Sinclair and Gabe Eltaeb“s coloring, and Oclair Albert and Joe Prado“s inking, give this issue a family vibe I’ve never really noticed before. Those snapshots of family those sacred intimate shots of togetherness are absolutely fantastic, and I wished they had considered them for the cover instead.
