So in the current issue of The Terrifics #18 we have the Noospehere, a singularity that Mr. Terrific built invading the earth, with all manners of creatures; Frogs, Lice or Gnats, flies, Pestilence of livestock, and locust, and an angel of death, and plastic man’s memitim”””executioners”, in Judaism, such angels might be seen as created by one’s sins.  All this issue needed was Blood, Boils, Thunderstorm of hail and fire, Darkness for three days and Death of firstborn and we would have a Plagues of Egypt soiree.
Definitely the fusion of religious mythology with the normally scientific technologically driven, Terrifics was interesting. But the problem is that the beginning panels were kinda incoherent for anyone who has just picked up the title, and I’m not sure picking up The Terrifics #17 will be helpful either. The one good subplot was Plastic -man and his seven sins running around and the team trying to round them up and put Plastic-man back together again.
So what’s lacking in a coherent story the Terrfics make-up for in great art. The visuals are utterly striking, the bright colors and kinetic actions give it a unique aesthetic that makes me think there should be more to this issue. I take  umbrage with character designs of Mister Terrific…seriously whats up with the half black face? At first I though it was a play on the greek comedy insignia but now Mrs. Terrific has the same thing.
