Mad Cave Studios brings GRIT back to print, returning readers to the brutal, off-kilter world from Brian Wickman (The Greylock) and Kevin Castaniero (War of the Worlds: Thunder Child), with colors by Simon Gough (Zorro) and letters by three-time Ringo nominee Micah Myers.

From feral packs of bog-hounds to goblin gang wars, Old Man Barrow’s solved plenty of problems with the swing of his axe…but when a routine troll hunt spirals into a brush with a would-be doomsday cult, he may be in more trouble than he can chop his way out of. Saddled with Ari, a sharp-tempered witch with little patience for his blood-soaked ways, Barrow is dragged into grotesque occult rituals, the jeering warbles of trash-talking songbirds, and a fight he can’t win on his own…whether he admits it or not.

Kevin Castaniero added, “Grit is one of those books that, for me, was this perfect storm of violence and humour. Getting to draw Barrow hacking away at goblins in one instance, and then Barrow getting down on the ground to investigate something… less heroic, was a blast. For readers who like their fantasy mean, weird, and a little unhinged, Grit sits alongside Head Lopper and Orc Stain, balancing brutality and dark humor without sanding down either edge. Originally released by Scout Comics in 2020, the series returns here in a new edition.
