The Diary of Sweet Pea #3 continues Imani Williams’ high-stakes sci-fi journey as the Kickstarter campaign goes live.

Writer and art director Alim Leggett has officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for the third issue of The Diary of Sweet Pea, and this one is coming in hot with heart, intensity, and serious sci-fi pressure.

As the series keeps building momentum, readers are once again thrown into the world of protagonist Imani Williams, a young woman facing the unimaginable as she fights to survive an alien invasion unfolding in the streets of Philadelphia. This is not just another sci-fi comic trying to coast on flashy concepts. This is a story with emotional weight, rising danger, and a central character being pushed to her limits as everything around her begins to spiral.

With issue three, Leggett is turning the dial all the way up!

The new campaign gives fans and first-time readers plenty of ways to jump into the universe of The Diary of Sweet Pea, whether they want to experience the story digitally, collect stunning physical editions, or go all in on premium exclusives built for serious comic lovers. The reward tiers were clearly designed with both accessibility and collector passion in mind, giving backers a wide range of options depending on how deep they want to go.

Supporters can grab digital and physical editions of issues one through three, along with PDF bundles for readers who want the full story experience in one shot. For collectors who live for standout covers, there are variant editions by IDW and Marvel artist J Travis Smith and comics legend Mark McKenna, adding even more visual firepower to the campaign. And for those who like their indie books with extra shine, there is also a Kickstarter-exclusive premium 12pt Holo Chrome cover edition that feels built to stand out in any collection.

But Leggett is not stopping there.

Backers looking for something even more personal can go after a custom drawn sketch cover by Punisher War Journal artist Frank Percy, which brings an extra layer of one-of-a-kind comic book energy to the campaign. Then there is the heavy hitter bundle for the real faithful: “The Completionist.” This elite limited package is loaded up with the full book set, all variant covers, posters, stickers, and trading cards, making it the kind of reward tier that feels less like a purchase and more like a celebration of the series.

“This issue pushes Imani’s story to new heights,” says Leggett. “We’ve designed these tiers to give fans and newcomers everything from a quick digital read to high-end physical collectibles.”

That statement says it all. This campaign is not just about funding another issue. It is about expanding the experience, rewarding the supporters, and bringing more readers into a world that is getting bigger, bolder, and more intense with every chapter. The Diary of Sweet Pea is aiming to give fans a sci-fi story with soul, tension, and style, while also delivering the kind of reward packages that make Kickstarter feel exciting in the first place.

For indie comic fans, collector hunters, and readers looking for a fresh sci-fi series with escalating stakes, this is one worth keeping eyes on.
