IGDA NYC and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment join forces for a one-day gaming festival packed with indie premieres, hands-on demos, VIP access, and New York creative firepower

Brooklyn is about to become the center of New York City’s gaming universe.

The International Game Developers Association New York City Chapter, better known as IGDA NYC, is partnering with the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment to present Game-A-Palooza: Fall 2026, a one-day celebration of the creators building the future of games right here in New York.

Taking place Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 339 Adams Street in Brooklyn, the festival will bring together more than 50 local game developers under one roof. Attendees will get hands-on access to an enormous lineup of NYC-made games, including unreleased indie projects and brand-new experiences being shown to the public for the first time.

Yeah, gamers, this is not another event where you stand around watching trailers and pretending the shrimp platter is dinner. You are getting the controller.

From 1 to 7 p.m., attendees can play more than 50 games created by developers from across New York City. The lineup promises to showcase the range, imagination, and creative hustle driving the local development scene, giving players a rare opportunity to discover projects before they hit the wider gaming world.

For developers, Game-A-Palooza offers more than a place to display their work. It creates a direct connection between the people making games and the players, publishers, investors, journalists, and content creators who can help those projects find an audience.

A special VIP session will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving investors, publishers, members of the press, and content creators exclusive early access to the showcase. VIP guests will receive first looks at the games and access to dedicated meeting space where they can connect directly with participating developers.

Those early conversations could lead to publishing agreements, investment opportunities, media coverage, creator collaborations, and the kind of professional relationships that help promising independent games level up. Business cards may be exchanged. Controllers will absolutely be grabbed.

“Game-A-Palooza is all about bringing together the city’s most inventive developers and giving the public a chance to experience the future of games firsthand,” said Amit, Co-Chair of IGDA NYC. “With the support of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, we’re thrilled to showcase the incredible talent right here in New York.”

Tickets are priced at just $10 per session, keeping the festival accessible to gamers who want to play something new, support local creators, and witness the energy bubbling inside New York’s game-development community.

Events like Game-A-Palooza matter because independent developers need more than talent and a great idea. They need visibility, feedback, industry connections, and real players willing to take a chance on something they have never seen before. Bringing all of those pieces together for one packed day gives New York’s creators a stronger platform to be discovered.

Whether you are developing the next indie obsession, searching for a project to publish, hunting for original content, or simply tired of playing the same recycled sequel, Brooklyn is the place to be.

More than 50 developers. More than 50 games. One day to experience what New York’s gaming community is building next.

Game developers interested in showcasing their work, gamers ready to play, and industry professionals seeking VIP access can find complete event details and registration at GameAPalooza.love.
