CRUNCHYROLL TO PRESENT ANIME MUSIC EXPERIENCE AT SECOND SKY, ANNUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL FROM PORTER ROBINSON

Crunchyroll, the global brand delivering world-class experiences for anime fans, is announcing today a special anime music experience heading to Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Festival.

Featuring the DJs from Tokyo’s iconic Akihabara anime night club, MOGRA, who are returning to the US for the first time since 2019, the Crunchyroll Anime Shelter experience will transport festival goers through an immersion of light and sound that will isekai attendees into the world of anime featuring DJs:

  • D-YAMA opened MOGRA in 2009. Since then he has brought MOGRA’s anime club scene to an international audience through tours in the United States and Germany as well as on Twitch.

  • Taku Inoue is a pop/dance music producer who served as a member of BANDAI NAMCO’s sound staff for nearly a decade. He has contributed to THE IDOLM@STER and TEKKEN series and is a resident DJ at MOGRA.

  • DJ WILDPARTY is a Japanese DJ and resident DJ at MOGRA who has partnered with various vocaloid talent and his tracks have been featured in THE IDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE!

Crunchyroll’s Anime Shelter space will also include photo opportunities, interactive activities and a Crunchyroll-branded bar offering a curated selection of anime-inspired drinks.

Crunchyroll will also support Second Sky’s Cosplay Cup taking place onsite, providing prizes to the top three winners in the special competition. The competition can be enjoyed within the Crunchyroll Anime Shelter space and interested attendees should keep an eye out for more information.

Crunchyroll’s Anime Shelter space at Second Sky is a nod to SHELTER, an animated short film written and executive produced by Porter Robinson in association with Crunchyroll in 2016.

Second Sky will take place Saturday, October 29 at Oakland Arena Grounds in Oakland, California featuring artists personally curated by Porter Robinson. Fans can purchase tickets here at secondskyfest.com

The third installment of Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Festival will return to the Bay Area on Saturday, October 29th at Oakland Arena Grounds in Oakland, CA. Presented by Goldenvoice, Second Sky will take place over Halloween weekend, and will feature a brand new set of artists personally curated by Porter Robinson. Second Sky has quickly become the most in-demand festival for the Bay Area, with tickets selling out in mere hours in 2019 and again in 2021. Second Sky is once again teaming up with Nassal and B Morrow Productions (builders of Universal’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the forthcoming Avatar and Super Nintendo World theme parks).
