Due to popular demand, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing — The Exhibition has been extended through April 26, giving guests three more months to explore the history and legacy of Spider-Man. The exhibit now runs through spring break season, offering a family-friendly destination experience for Chicagoans and visitors.
Since its opening in May 2025, more than a quarter million guests have already visited the immersive exhibit featuring original artwork by legendary creators, rare comic books and behind-the-scenes looks at how the “Spider-Verse” leapt from the page to movies, TV and video games. Now even more visitors can see film props and costumes, explore cutting-edge interactive installations and take photos with life-size statues of Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales and more.
Artifact highlights include:
- Amazing Fantasy #15, the comic book that debuted Spider-Man
- Spider-Man suits from 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man (with Andrew Garfield in the starring role) and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (with Tom Holland in the starring role)
- The Green Goblin mask from 2002’s Spider-Man (with Tobey Maguire in the starring role and Willem Dafoe as The Green Goblin)
- Rare notes and corrections from Stan Lee who would often discard his drafts
- Concept sketches, ink drawings and full illustrations of pages from early Spider-Man comic books featuring iconic moments from the Super Hero’s lore, like the introduction of Mary Jane Watson
The exhibit was developed by Semmel Exhibitions in association with Marvel and co-curated by comic scholars Benjamin Saunders and Patrick A. Reed, and designed by acclaimed Berlin-based collective StudioTK. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition is presented by Bank of America.
Guests are encouraged to reserve timed tickets for the exhibit in advance at griffinmsi.org/spiderman.
