An infographic published by industry analysis firm newzoo.com revealed that the Canadian games industry is the eighth largest in the world. There are more than 21 million gamers in the region, spending around $2.3 billion on games each year.

While this is dwarfed by the estimated $36.9 billion that the games industry in the United States is expected to make in 2019 and is just a small drop in the bucket of the $152.1 billion global games market, it’s a huge amount of money compared to population size, which some game developers and gaming platforms may be leaving on the table too if they don’t do enough to make themselves known to Canadian gamers.
