Greetings my Comic Crusaders family. Wow… Is it June already? I hope everyone is afe, healthy and well. I am doing all right. Getting back to normal. Slowly but surely. Getting ready to step up my game and details will be coming in the future “Pimping the Long Box” articles. Please remember you don’t need sight to have a vision and it’s not what happens to you but what you do about it.

Let’s all get paid, laid and made, because that’s the American way! So declares the Comic Pimp! Now let’s see what’s shaking in the world of comics and pop culture today.

Modok

I am now half way into the Hulu Modok series, up to episode six. Loving it so far. Patton Oswalt as Modok is just amazing. Loving the family aspect of the show. Aimee Garcia as Jody is amazing as well. I love the fact that this show utilizes D list villains like the Melter and Armadillo. It’s nice to see Wonder Man get his moment in the spotlight as the leader and Mr. Sinister drinking in a bar. Just an all around fun show so far.

If you want some of that sweet comic book money, then you need to find these books and flip ‘em or stash ‘em:

  • Marvel Double Feature #18 reprints Modok’s first appearance from Tales of Suspense. Seek out the Mark Hewler’s insert of this classic bronze age reprint.
  • Captain America s#112 and 133 The Falcon becomes Captain America’s Partner
  • Strange Tales #147 Last Steve Dikto issue of Dr. Strange. First AIM. Aim is the company Modok runs and this is it’s first appearance.
  • Avengers #150 and 151 Jack Kirby returns to the Avengers plus Wonderman returns from the dead. New line up of Avengers books like Captain America #308, first Armadillo, Marvel two in one #54, first Pound Cakes Tales of Suspense #82, First Super Adaptoid and especially the mini series Modo Head Games s#1-5 which explore the family from this series are cheap and easy to find. So worth the money.

If you had to choose between New York City or Las Vegas to live and set up a comic book store that was adults only, which would you choose and why?

The Robot Chicken Archie Comics Special kicked ass. Loved it If you want a weird Archie Comic to hunt for, try for Archi #158. It has a classic Betty and Veronica tits and ass cover and features the first Archie in drag story. It goes from anywhere between $10 adn $60 and is a must have for the Archie fan. I love Robot Chicken and need to catch up a bit.

Lucifer season 5 part B was amazing. I just loved it. The musical episode was amazing for two things. The Another one Bites the Dust and the scene where Maze was giving lap dances to Bad to The Bone and dancing with Elle. Amy Garcia is a l.i.l.f. Listen to the podcast on Tuesday night and I will explain what a l.i.l.f is #testify. All the interactions between god and Lucifer are golden. The last two episodes are breakneck paced with action and emotion. I am very excited for Lucifer season six and the Sandman.

Speaking of the Sandman, here are two books to chase if you’re investing/ collecting Sandman and Lucifer comics and collectibles:

  • Sandman #22 First Maze. Yes, Lucifer’s right hand woman appears for the first time in this issue. It also features the first Daniel Hall before he becomes the new dream. A solid $40-60 book.
  • Book of Magic #4 a story featuring the sister of the Sandman. It is under $10 and worth the hunt. I still need to listen to the Audible Sandman series but anyways.. This is the time to be buying Sandman stuff.

What happened to the stroll? I have a question. Asking for a friend. What happened to the stroll where all the hookers walked in Washington Heights in New York City? In any major city in America, what has happened to the stroll? Has America gotten so PC and judgmental that we put the oldest profession out of work? How can we help hookers become better hookers? Not every crack-whore has a computer or access to a computer to use Only Fans or Craigslist or ‘Insert Online Stroll Site Here’ but what happened to the old fashioned stroll? I miss it and I want it protected. Yes I do. Let’s help a crack-whore today. #testify. (I hope yo know this IS in jest, lighten up f0lks)

TMNT The Last Ronin #3 was amazing. Not spoiling it, but if this series from issue to issue doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, then you need to check yourself. Best TMNT series in years. Nuff said.

Reprints worth the money:

Here are a few reprints worth digging through the back issues for:

  • Marvel Tales #266 reprints
  • Amazing Spiderman #252
  • Classic X Men s # 1 and 2 reprints
  • Uncanny X Men #94 and Giant sized X men #1

I will be highlighting other reprints to make money with in the future Pimping the Long Box articles. … Should I also pimp the short box??

RIP Paul Souls… Paul Souls was the first voice of Spider-Man. He played Spider-Man in the 1966 animated series. He was ninety years old and passed away last week. Paul was a great actor and has helped shape childhoods. Thank you for the memories and thank you for the best Spiderman and a sweet Hulk as well. RIP

Lastly,

Dear Mickey Mouse,

Please put the 1966 and the 1990 Spider-Man series back in print as DVD box sets. Why are all the great Marvel animated series not on DVD or on Disney Plus?

Well, that is it for this week, please stay safe. Remember to use the force. Remember to keep your pimp hand strong and to wash your hands. Wear your masks. I’m still wearing mine for a while longer. If anyone hasn’t said they love you today, the Comic Pimp loves you. Remember that you’re worth it. Stay strong and don’t accept any wooden nickels.

Love you all
