Rapper DAMEZ Releases New EP ‘COVERBOY’ in Honor of Black Music & Pride Month!

Multi-faceted emerging Atlanta artist Damez has just released his highly-anticipated fifth project. The EP showcases Damez’s East Atlanta roots and offers trap, up-beat, and turn up vibes just in time for summer. The track list features some bangers such as his hit single “Ate That”, twerk anthem “Up Down” and “We Outside” which celebrates the near-end of a deadly pandemic. ‘COVERBOY’ can be streamed on all major digital outlets now!
The new EP’s title was inspired by the many magazines the artist has graced the cover of. The covers include Out Magazine, Atlanta Magazine, Raynbow Affair and Swerve Magazine. He was also featured in Billboard & GayTimes, showcasing his divergent artistry. The lead visual from the EP holds its same name and begins with Damez belting out a touching monologue from the heart; detailing everyday struggles and his desire to keep pushing forward through adversity. It then switches gears as the young star boastfully raps about his career taking off without the assistance of a record deal. He can be seen at the upcoming MOBI FEST performing his popular hits as well as new tracks from ‘COVERBOY’.
“This is the most confident and triumphant I’ve ever felt. After a really rough 2020, landing those magazine covers really got me back up. Everything on this EP is stylized in all caps because it speaks to that triumph. I want people to feel BIG and confident in themselves when they listen to this new music” he says.
One of the EP’s key singles, “We Outside” is a track that everyone can enjoy. As CDC restrictions have been lifted, people across the nation are celebrating their freedom to well, be outside. Full of metaphors and strategic word play, this track simply boosts your confidence while simultaneously exciting you to celebrate making it through a global pandemic. “I am the one, I ain’t coming in second. I tell him pull up, he’ll be here in a second. Fuck on your face while I’m counting my blessings. Leave me the money then I leave an impression,” he raps.
Hailing from Atlanta, Damez is a rapper, singer, dancer, songwriter, and a rising voice in hip-hop. Primarily rap/hip-hop and R&B, he showcases his talents and versatility through an eclectic catalog of self-penned songs and choreography-heavy visuals. Damez has been consistently releasing music since 2014. Despite many hurdles, he remains focused on the exponential growth of his career. He showcases his struggles and triumphs on his popular YouTube docu-series titled, “Go Hard”. From his childhood, he has been through an unfortunate series of events such as the divorce of his parents and the horrific murder of his brother at the tender age of 17 (Google: “Justice For Ryan Henderson”). He found refuge in music by independently recording music and performing at live shows. He has since released a number of projects and singles globally on iTunes, Amazon and streaming platforms since his debut EP arrived via SoundCloud in 2014. Being black and LGBT in today’s challenging society has not always been an easy road for him, but he’s channeled the unique intersectionality of his life experiences in his music and hopes to be a voice for unique people everywhere.
‘COVERBOY’ is available on streaming on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and TIDAL, or for purchase on iTunes & Amazon now.
