Review: Cult Classic #3: Creature Feature

In issue #1 of Cult Classic Creature Feature ; A group of preteens snuck out of a sleepover to go into the woods, which leads to a terrifying sequence of events.  We met Jarrod Parker AKA The Last Star-fighter, whose brother just died in the woods during the so called King Lake Mutilations. Berwyn Meyer AKA  Rip G Raves: Television host of the Channel 13 Cult Classic Horror Show.

In the current issue of Cult Classic #3 Creature Feature; Parker AKA The Last Star-fighter, to finally gets to meet the person behind the voice of Bait &Switch, a mysterious Female, who gives off a real bait for “To Catch A Predator” vibe.

We meet Doctor Wright, the doctor on call during the night shift at Whisper Hospital, whose staff acknowledges that, the town has been has been mired in rumors of a parasite epidemic, that results Ebola like in some cases, both internal and external bleeding, and we meet Red Stokes the Sheriff of Whisper county, who has been concentrating on the so called King Lake Mutilations.

There isn’t much story progression wise, The people in Whisper still can’t actually do anything yet because they don’t know that there is an actual problem.  The scary part is that even if they knew they still don’t have the skills to deal with the parasitic slug that is destroying the town.

The horror relies on situational terror, as close quarters in a room or in a car with an unknown threat seemed to be a theme that Rahal honed in on.

Best Panel: With the threat quite literally looming at the door, Rip G Raves the host of the Qwety Horror show, has called the cops and in a tongue in cheek moment, the dispatcher asks Raves is he in danger of course a living walking Skeleten zombie crashes its way through the station.

Final Verdict: 2.5/5 stars.   As a horror fan Cult Classic Creature Feature #3 hits the spot; however, those who were looking for a good story may find this particular issue a bit stalled and slower than its premiere issue.  Some of the biggest questions that I had seem to have been answered already ,  but I am still intrigued enough to look forward to issue #4.

SCORE: 2.5/5 stars
