NFT: Cursed Images Brings Haunted Crypto Horror to VOD March 6
This one hits modern horror nerves in the best, most unsettling way possible. đđ±đ„
Chroma has officially announced the North American release of Jonas Odenheimerâs twisted, non-fungible nightmare NFT: Cursed Images, and yeah this thing is coming in hot. Shot on the gritty streets of London and fresh off a killer festival run, the film drops March 6 on digital platforms, timed perfectly with a limited theatrical release for those brave enough to experience it on the big screen.
And letâs talk receipts because this movie didnât just show up at the 2024 British Horror Film Festival, it DOMINATED. Weâre talking Best Feature Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and the Rising Star Award. Thatâs not buzz thatâs a full sweep.
The cast is stacked with genre heat, starring David Wayman, Mariah Nonnemacher, Durassie Kiangangu, Amelie Edwards, Nobuse Jnr, Jasmine Clark, Charlie Rich, and horror favorite Najarra Townsend. Odenheimer isnât just directing he wrote the script and produced the film through his Old Jim Productions banner, keeping the vision tight and personal.
Starting March 6, audiences across North America can rent or own NFT: Cursed Images in Digital HD on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home. And ahead of the U.S. rollout, Odenheimer made it clear this isnât horror for shock value alone. The goal was to create a âgateway horrorâ something younger audiences could jump into while still being deeply relatable to a generation haunted less by ghosts and more by financial anxiety and an uncertain future. That tension? Itâs baked right into the fear.
Hereâs where it gets extra clever.
In partnership with VeVe Digital Collectibles, the film lets fans grab a FREE, limited-edition digital collectible just by scanning a QR code hidden in the official trailer. Only the first 6,666 viewers get one and the collectible features one of the same creatures from the movie itself. Horror meets digital culture in the wildest way.
So whatâs the nightmare?
Set in London, seven friends stumble upon a hyped NFT collection called Crypto Horrors, promising money, clout, and online status. Sounds familiar, right? But thereâs a catch the NFTs are cursed. Soon, the digital monsters start crossing over into reality, hunting their owners one by one. As panic spreads and logic fails, reports flood in from online communities experiencing similar phenomena. What starts as flex culture turns into full-blown survival horror.
Runtime clocks in at 74 minutes, but trust this one lingers.
NFT: Cursed Images isnât just about monsters.
Itâs about obsession.
Itâs about digital identity.
And itâs about what happens when the things we chase start chasing us back.
Welcome to modern horror. WEPA. đđČđ„
