Kelly Thompson’s Angel Joins the Buffyverse in a New Interconnected Epic From Dynamite

The Buffyverse is officially getting bigger, darker, and way more dangerous, because Dynamite is bringing Angel back this August with superstar writer Kelly Thompson leading the charge alongside artist Giulia Giacomino. After the huge return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel steps out of the shadows and right into a new interconnected epic built to shake up the whole supernatural playground.

Once feared as the brutal vampire Angelus, Angel now walks the world cursed with a soul, carrying centuries of guilt, pain, romance, and redemption on his back like the broodiest backpack in comics. From Sunnydale heartbreak to supernatural detective work in Los Angeles, Angel has always been about helping the helpless but this time, going home may unleash a whole new wave of chaos.

Thompson is steering both Buffy and Angel as one seamless Buffyverse event, with Angel #1 picking up directly after Buffy #1, giving fans a full-course supernatural feast of action, emotion, character drama, and big “oh snap!” surprises.

With covers from David Nakayama, Clayton Crain, Meredith McClaren, Meghan Hetrick, and remastered Jenny Frison Icon covers, collectors better stretch first wallets are about to do cardio.
