Ghouls Gone Wild Unleashes Three Supernatural Cult Classics on UK Blu-Ray

Eureka Entertainment resurrects Scared Stiff, The Haunted Cop Shop, and Magic of Spell through new 2K restorations in a limited-edition collection arriving this October.

Eureka Entertainment is digging deep into the wild side of 1980s East Asian horror with Ghouls Gone Wild, a three-film collection loaded with restless spirits, demonic creatures, supernatural martial arts, and comedy that can turn into nightmare fuel without warning.

Presented from brand-new 2K restorations, Scared Stiff, The Haunted Cop Shop, and Magic of Spell will make their UK Blu-ray debuts through the Eureka Classics line on October 19, 2026. Limited to only 2,000 copies, the collection arrives inside an O-card slipcase and includes an exclusive collector’s booklet. Translation: collectors may want to move fast before this one disappears into the spirit realm.

Hong Kong and Taiwanese horror exploded throughout the 1980s following the success of influential genre favorites such as Encounter of the Spooky Kind, The Dead and the Deadly, and Mr Vampire. Filmmakers mixed horror, action, fantasy, martial arts, and broad comedy into movies that rarely stayed inside one lane. Ghouls Gone Wild gathers three standout examples from that era, featuring recognizable stars including Chow Yun-fat, Wu Ma, and Ricky Hui.

Directed by Lau Kar-wing, Scared Stiff follows a young man who gains the ability to enter other people’s dreams after an accident. What begins as a strange supernatural gift soon becomes his best weapon when he uses it to pursue a sadistic murderer. The film blends psychic mystery, dark comedy, and horror into the kind of genre cocktail that could only come from this wonderfully unpredictable period of filmmaking.

The Haunted Cop Shop throws police officers, criminals, and angry spirits into one haunted pressure cooker. Co-written by acclaimed filmmaker Wong Kar-wai, the movie follows cops and crooks forced to battle vengeful beings inside a police station built on a site stained by violence. Drawing inspiration from both Mr Vampire and Fright Night, it delivers supernatural chills, physical comedy, and undead chaos without ever asking permission to switch moods.

Magic of Spell closes the collection with a full dive into supernatural wuxia fantasy. A kung fu master sets out to destroy the infernal demon responsible for his mother’s death, launching a battle filled with sorcery, martial arts, strange creatures, and the kind of imagination that laughs at the concept of playing it safe. Fans of The Miracle Fighters and Shaolin Drunkard should feel right at home inside its beautifully unhinged world.

Together, these three films showcase the incredible range of Chinese-language horror during the 1980s. One moment brings laugh-out-loud comedy, the next unleashes ruthless killers, jiangshi, ghosts, monsters, and devils straight from the underworld. Sometimes all of that happens before the scene even ends.

Ghouls Gone Wild is more than a collection of forgotten curiosities. It is a restored celebration of an era when filmmakers threw horror, action, fantasy, and comedy into the same cauldron and trusted the audience to enjoy the ride. With all three films finally making their UK Blu-ray debuts, Eureka Classics is giving cult cinema fans a chance to experience this supernatural mayhem looking better than ever.
