LAND OF MING YI VOL. 1 arrives November 10, 2026, bringing readers into a realm built around the delicate balance of Yin and Yang, where one catastrophic ritual is enough to send everything sideways.

Created by Hong Kong-based author and illustrator Mimi Tsoi, with contributions by Ling Chau and lettering and translation by Book Buddy Media, the 240-page young adult original graphic novel pulls from Tsoi’s fascination with Chinese mythology, philosophy, numerology, and visual storytelling.

Tsoi, founder of Ink Pen Creative Limited, folds those influences into a coming-of-age fantasy where cosmic forces collide with very human fears, friendships, rivalries, and choices.

The trouble begins when a disastrous ritual destroys the last of the golden birds, shattering the balance between Yin and Yang and awakening an ancient force once responsible for plunging the land into darkness. Yeah. Somebody definitely should’ve left that ritual alone. As chaos spreads across the realm, four teenagers find themselves pulled into a prophecy none of them fully understand.

Yau Yan is an outcast mysteriously connected to a powerful relic. Mo Kau finds himself drawn toward forbidden knowledge. Bei Fu has spent his life obsessed with legends, only to discover some stories hit different when they start becoming real. Mao Yu, meanwhile, is determined to prove himself even as the danger around the group keeps escalating.

Each carries their own baggage, questions, and secrets, but survival may depend on whether they can work together before the imbalance consumes everything around them.

Blending elemental powers, Chinese mythology, ancient artifacts, supernatural mystery, and character-driven adventure, LAND OF MING YI VOL. 1 looks ready to deliver the kind of sprawling fantasy young adult readers can sink their teeth into without losing sight of the friendships and personal struggles holding the whole journey together.
