MARVEL’S MULTIVERSE GOES TO WAR! INCURSIONS Throws HOUSE OF M, DAYS OF FUTURE PAST & More Into Reality-Killing Battles

Five new Marvel one-shots revisit the final days before SECRET WARS, smashing legendary realities together in battles where somebody’s universe ain’t making it out alive.

Marvel ain’t playing with the Multiverse anymore.

This November, TIME RUNS OUT AGAIN as Marvel Comics launches INCURSIONS, five reality-destroying one-shots returning readers to the catastrophic final days that paved the road to Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić’s landmark Secret Wars. These aren’t cute little Multiverse cameos where two Spider-Men point at each other and everybody goes home happy. Nah, mi gente. Two universes enter. Only one gets to keep existing.

The madness begins November 18 with X-MEN: INCURSIONS #1, written by Alex Paknadel with art by Jim Towe, and Marvel is opening this thing with one hell of a mutant nightmare: HOUSE OF M versus DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Yeah. Read that again.

One reality gave mutants the power. The other nearly wiped them off the damn map. Now those two worlds are on a collision course with just eight hours before both realities are annihilated, unless somebody makes an impossible decision. That somebody is Kate Pryde, putting one of Marvel’s most battle-tested X-Men right in the middle of a cosmic choice where saving one world could mean murdering another.  And Marvel ain’t stopping there.

The INCURSIONS lineup continues with SPIDER-MAN: INCURSIONS #1 by Christos Gage and additional creators, FANTASTIC FOUR: INCURSIONS #1 by Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan and Paco Medina, X-MEN ’92: INCURSIONS #1 from Chris Yost, Craig Kyle and more, and AVENGERS: INCURSIONS #1 by Al Ewing and Fran Mariscal Mancilla. Each special dives into another collision between worlds pulled from Marvel history, alternate timelines, classic eras and fan-favorite adaptations. For anybody who remembers Hickman’s original Avengers and New Avengers run, the word “incursion” already comes with trauma attached.

Those universe-on-universe collisions eventually helped destroy both the classic Marvel Universe and Ultimate Universe, setting the stage for Secret Wars. Marvel is now going back into that ticking-clock chaos to reveal battles we never saw the first time around. Basically, somebody found a locked door marked “DO NOT OPEN: MULTIVERSAL APOCALYPSE” and Marvel said, “Yo, what’s behind this?”

Writer Alex Paknadel sounds like he’s having the time of his life digging through decades of continuity, describing the assignment as an opportunity to build a personal story against the backdrop of three enormous Marvel events. That’s exactly the juice this concept needs. Multiverse stories hit harder when the spectacle isn’t the whole meal. Give us the impossible choice, then make us care about the person forced to make it. And Marvel is bringing serious visual firepower to the launch.

X-MEN: INCURSIONS #1 will feature covers from Gleb Melnikov and Secret Wars artist Esad Ribić, while superstar artist Bryan Hitch delivers promotional artwork tying the entire INCURSIONS event together. The Multiverse has been Marvel’s favorite playground for a minute, but INCURSIONS sounds like Marvel remembering what originally made the concept scary. Not infinite possibilities. Consequences.

When two beloved realities collide and only one gets to survive, suddenly nostalgia becomes ammunition. House of M. Days of Future Past. X-Men ’92. Spider-Man. Avengers. Fantastic Four. Marvel is loading decades of history into the chamber and asking readers one vicious question:

If your favorite universe could survive only by destroying another one, which world are you choosing?

Oh, this could get ugly.

X-MEN: INCURSIONS #1 hits comic shops November 18, 2026. The Multiverse better start saying its goodbyes.
