SheroCon Roars Back to Los Angeles, Celebrating Women Creators and Inspiring the Next Generation

·Al Mega

Los Angeles’ all-female comic convention sells out its 2026 comeback and announces a Women’s History Month return for March 2027

SheroCon came back swinging on August 1, returning as a standalone event for the first time in six years at the Valley Relics Museum at Van Nuys Airport. Founded by Shero Comics, the convention brought together women making moves across comics, animation, gaming, film, publishing, and pop culture for a packed day built around creativity, community, and showing the next generation what is possible.

Despite triple-digit San Fernando Valley heat, SheroCon reached capacity in advance and delivered panels featuring creators and entertainment professionals connected to Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Invincible, Pokémon Horizons, The Cuphead Show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and TOKYOPOP.

Founder Shequeta L. Smith summed up the mission perfectly: SheroCon exists to show women and girls what they can become. That message hit even harder when two young Black girls closed out the “Your Favorite Shero” Cosplay Competition proudly representing the heroes who inspire them.

The day also included Shero Alley, five creator-focused panels, the inaugural SheroCon Pizza Crawl, and a major surprise when The She Angels Foundation awarded Smith a $5,000 grant to help support the convention’s comeback.

And SheroCon ain’t slowing down. Planning is already underway for its next chapter, with the convention officially returning during Women’s History Month in March 2027.
