Terminal #2 First Look Pushes Kirkman and Casey’s Superhero War Toward Total Destruction

Skybound and Image Comics unleash new pages, powerhouse variant covers, and another dangerous turning point in the most unpredictable superhero series on shelves.

Skybound and Image Comics have revealed a first look at Terminal #2, the next explosive chapter in the new superhero series from an absolutely stacked lineup of comic book heavyweights. Created by Robert Kirkman, Joe Casey, Andy Kubert, Arthur Adams, and David Finch, the series returns to comic shops on August 26, 2026, with the fate of humanity already hanging by a very thin thread.

The opening issue introduced readers to a secret super-powered conflict threatening to tear the world apart. Now, the situation is getting even uglier. The world’s most important technological visionary has been marked for death, and the people controlling this hidden war are clearly not interested in negotiations, mercy, or anything resembling common sense.

At the center of the chaos is Marilyn Howe, whose next decision could completely reshape the battle. Skybound is keeping the details locked down tighter than a Brooklyn parking spot, but the new preview makes one thing clear: whatever choice she makes will have consequences far beyond one person, one mission, or even one city. This war is growing, and everybody involved may be running out of places to hide.

The creative lineup remains one of the biggest reasons Terminal feels like a genuine event rather than another superhero title fighting for shelf space. Kirkman and Casey bring years of experience building dangerous worlds, complicated characters, and stories where the safe choice usually stopped existing about ten pages ago. Kubert, Adams, and Finch have each helped define major eras of superhero comics, and their combined presence gives the series a visual identity built around scale, intensity, and pure comic book spectacle.

The complete creative team also includes inker Sandra Hope, colorist Dave McCaig, and letterer Rus Wooton. Together, they deliver a world that feels familiar enough to pull longtime superhero readers in, but unstable enough to keep them guessing. Fans of Invincible and the harder-hitting eras of X-Men should feel right at home, although “home” might be the wrong word for a series where death, betrayal, and global destruction appear to be permanent houseguests.

Collectors will also have plenty to hunt down when the second issue arrives. The cover lineup includes open-to-order variants by Andy Kubert and Dave McCaig, David Finch and Dave McCaig, and Arthur Adams and Dave McCaig. The issue will also feature a 1:25 incentive variant by Ben Oliver, a 1:50 incentive variant by Mahmud Asrar and Dave McCaig, and a 1:100 incentive variant by Yanick Paquette and Simon Gough.

Demand for the series is already making noise. Terminal #1 will return for a second printing on August 26, featuring two new covers by Rick Leonardi and Neeraj Menon. That gives readers who missed the debut another shot at getting in from the beginning, while collectors get two more reasons to start clearing space in those long boxes.

With its oversized creative roster, violent superhero conflict, and a story built around choices that could doom the entire planet, Terminal is positioning itself as one of the wildest new books of the year. The first issue lit the fuse. Issue #2 looks ready to toss the whole box of matches into the gasoline and see who survives.

Terminal #2 will be available at comic book shops and through digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The issue carries a suggested retail price of $4.99.
