Todd McFarlane Productions is bringing some serious collector heat to fans worldwide, and this time you do not need a San Diego Comic-Con badge, a hotel miracle, or sneakers built for surviving the convention floor. WEPA, this one is for the fans everywhere.
Todd McFarlane Productions is giving collectors across the globe a shot at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 exclusive comics through a special Whatnot live show on July 9th, marking the first time an official Todd McFarlane signed SDCC exclusive comic release will be offered exclusively through the live shopping platform. McFarlane has already been building a presence on Whatnot through exclusive live auction events featuring rare comics, signed collectibles, and items connected to his personal archive.
This release features two highly collectible covers born from a rare artistic collaboration between Spawn legend Todd McFarlane and acclaimed superstar artist Artgerm. One cover showcases Artgerm’s original artwork in full visual glory, while the second presents a special Todd McFarlane inked version, bringing McFarlane’s signature linework over the same image for a completely different creative flavor. Same foundation. Different beast. That is comic book alchemy, baby.
Limited to only 750 signed collector’s sets, each release includes one Artgerm cover and one Todd McFarlane inked cover, both signed by McFarlane. Let that breathe for a second. Two covers. Two signatures. One very limited set. Collectors already know what that means. Once these are gone, the aftermarket is going to start acting brand new.
McFarlane said he had a great time collaborating with Artgerm on the highly limited books, noting that one edition features Artgerm’s full paints while the other transforms the image into a more traditional pen-and-ink illustration. He added that both editions will be signed, giving fans two McFarlane autographs in each set.

The bigger move here is access. McFarlane made it clear that fans who cannot attend San Diego Comic-Con deserve the same opportunity to grab these books. That is the part that hits. Not everybody can fly out, book a room, survive the lines, and still have money left for tacos. This Whatnot release opens the door for fans around the world to get in on the SDCC exclusive action without being physically on-site.
The July 9th show also launches a new series of Todd McFarlane Whatnot exclusive comic releases, with more limited-edition comics planned throughout the year. Each future live event is expected to feature its own exclusive comic and limited print run, so collectors may want to keep that notification button warm. The Whatnot profile for Todd McFarlane is already active as part of the platform’s live shopping marketplace.
Unlike previous years, these SDCC exclusive sets will not be sold by Todd McFarlane Productions during San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Fans who secure a set through the Whatnot live show are expected to receive them in time to bring them to San Diego, where they can try to add Artgerm’s signature during the convention.
So yeah, collectors, pay attention. July 9th is not just another drop. It is a worldwide shot at SDCC-level heat, signed by one of the biggest names in comics, paired with Artgerm’s gorgeous artwork, wrapped in a limited 750-set run. This is the kind of release that makes collectors set alarms, charge phones, stretch fingers, and whisper, “Nobody bother me during this live show.”
Spawn fans, McFarlane collectors, Artgerm loyalists, and SDCC exclusive hunters, this one is calling your name. Loudly.
Fans can secure the SDCC exclusive collector’s set during the Todd McFarlane Whatnot live show on July 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST. Each signed set includes one Artgerm cover and one Todd McFarlane inked cover, available for $200 + shipping. A limit of five sets per customer will apply.
