COMPLEXANT Unleash “Afterlife” Video as Debut Album Apex Prepares to Crush July 31

·Al Mega

Australian blackened death machine COMPLEXANT has launched the official music video for “Afterlife,” the second single from the band’s upcoming debut full-length album, Apex. The record is set to arrive July 31, 2026, with the band continuing to carve out a sound built on darkness, weight, and pure unrelenting intensity.

Vocalist Dan Greigsy describes the song as a grim emotional descent centered on a married couple crushed by debt while still fiercely devoted to one another. The lyrics play like their final conversation, circling the devastating realization: “Nobody wants to live forever when you’re living the hard life and dying on the inside.”

That is heavy. Not just heavy like blast beats through concrete. Heavy like life has its boot on your chest and the walls are closing in. “Afterlife” does not flirt with darkness, it walks straight into the room, turns the lights off, and lets the pain speak.

The band has joined forces with No Clean Singing for the exclusive world premiere of the video, giving fans the first full visual strike from this new chapter. Apex brings 10 tracks of violent riffing, percussive punishment, and unearthly vocals from the Australian blackened death metal outfit, formed in 2017.

Following a run of acclaimed singles and 2023’s A Rite of Passage EP, COMPLEXANT now look ready to push harder into the global extreme metal arena. WEPA, this is not background music for folding laundry. This is the soundtrack for staring into the void and making the void blink first.

Apex arrives July 31 via Bleeding Art Collective in partnership with Blood Blast Distribution.
