Videogame Review: Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game developed by Eidos Montréal in conjunction with Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. It continues the narrative from the 2013 game Tomb Raider and its sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider, and is the twelfth mainline entry in the Tomb Raider series.

In this next chapter Lara Croft is racing yet again to get her hands on ancient artifacts

before the evil Trinity Corporation can. These artifacts can rewrite the world into their wielders image. That is something she can not allow.

This game simply offers it all, action, stealth, crafting, puzzles, you name it. Crystal Dynamics goes above and beyond in offering on console if you would like higher frame rate or better graphics. The game not only performs well, but looks simply amazing.

The good: The story line will have you hooked from beginning to end. Graphics are top notch.

The bad: Not a whole lot of new stuff from the last chapter.

The ugly: Controls at times will make you leap off the wrong side of the building/terrain to your death.

The Verdict: If you have been a fan of the Tomb Raider series you will not be disappointed. Shadow offers up some amazing Tombs and a lot of secrets to be discovered. This very much feel like a huge expansion to Rise, but that“s not a bad thing.
