IZ*ONE: The Dream, the Drama & the Legacy That Still Blooms

This week on K-Pop Cosmos, Freyja and Mark open the portal to one of K-pop’s most emotional and influential chapters: IZ*ONE.

Formed through Mnet’s survival show Produce 48, IZ*ONE brought together twelve Korean and Japanese members and debuted in 2018 with **COLORIZ** and the iconic title track “La Vie en Rose.” Their run was brief, but their impact was massive, building a fandom, IZ*ONE, that still keeps the group’s story alive. The group officially wrapped activities in 2021 after their project contract ended, but their legacy did not go quietly into the glitter void.

Freyja and Mark talk about the music, the visuals, the fandom heartbreak, the Produce-era controversy, and the incredible second lives of the members. From IVE and LE SSERAFIM to solo careers, acting, variety, and new debuts, IZ*ONE became less of an ending and more of a launchpad. Soompi’s 2025 update notes members continuing across major groups, solo releases, acting, variety, and new projects, including Sakura and Kim Chaewon in LE SSERAFIM, An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung in IVE, and Honda Hitomi’s return to K-pop with SAY MY NAME.
