Bill Sienkiewicz Documentary Unleashes Its First Trailer at San Diego Comic-Con

ComicBookPros pulled back the curtain on Bill Sienkiewicz: That Polish Guy during San Diego Comic-Con, debuting the documentary’s first trailer and giving fans an early look at a film dedicated to one of the most influential and visually fearless artists in modern pop culture.

The trailer premiered during a July 25 panel featuring Sienkiewicz, director Remsy Atassi, and producer Sal Abbinanti, the creative team behind The Legend of Kingdom Come. Together, they discussed Sienkiewicz’s one-of-a-kind career, the process of capturing his story on film, and the creative obsession that has driven his work for decades. The panel concluded with an audience Q&A, while attendees also received an exclusive poster created specifically for San Diego Comic-Con 2026.

“That drive is something we all share, and I’m proud, in the words of the great Cormac McCarthy, to carry that fire,” he said.

The documentary takes its title from a nickname reportedly given to Sienkiewicz by legendary actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood. More importantly, it explores the life, personality, and creative legacy of the groundbreaking Polish-American artist, whose influence stretches far beyond the comic book rack.

Through interviews with Vincent D’Onofrio, Kevin Smith, Peter Ramsey, Jim Lee, Denys Cowan, and other major voices from comics, television, and film, That Polish Guy examines how Sienkiewicz’s work shattered expectations and inspired generations of artists to stop coloring inside the lines.

The film will also take viewers behind the scenes of several defining works from his career, offering a closer look at the technique, emotion, experimentation, and controlled chaos that made his artwork instantly recognizable.
