The story comes from rising horror storytellers Tim Daniel and David “D.B.” Andry (Crush Depth, Morning Star), with hauntingly beautiful and atmospheric art from modern horror master Maan House (Mine is a Long Lonesome Grave). If you like your horror thick with mystery, creeping dread, and a setting that feels alive with history… yeah, this one’s about to grab you by the collar.
High above the roaring Pacific sits the Mission at Arbués Point, a 400-year-old Spanish mission perched on a jagged cliff. Tourists come for the views and the legends but locals know something darker lives there. The place has earned a reputation as one of California’s most haunted historical sites, and not just because of ghost stories whispered in the wind.
Behind the crumbling stone walls of the mission, a reclusive nun has spent decades praying, studying, and quietly chasing a secret buried far beneath the chapel… and under the violent waters of the tidal estuary below.
Enter Maris Cristobal, a marine archaeologist who gets an offer she can’t refuse: excavate a legendary shipwreck rumored to lie beneath the mission’s turbulent waters. Sounds like a dream job, right?
Yeah… not so fast.
