Adventure Time Deluxe Comics Library Launches on Kickstarter

WEPAAAA! Fam, somebody over at Oni Press looked at 15-plus years of Adventure Time comics and said, “Yeah, we’re gonna need a bigger shelf.”
And they were not playing.
Oni Press and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have officially launched the Adventure Time Deluxe Comics Library on Kickstarter, collecting more than 100 issues of Adventure Time comics into six oversized hardcover library editions. We’re talking Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, BMO and enough Land of Ooo madness to make your bookshelf start questioning its structural integrity.

The big hook here is that the complete main Adventure Time comic series is being collected in chronological order across six volumes, with each hardcover getting its own Kickstarter-exclusive slipcase. According to Oni Press, these particular slipcase editions are exclusive to the campaign and will not later be dumped into mass retail. So yeah, collectors, they know exactly what they’re doing to us.
And because apparently six giant Adventure Time hardcovers weren’t enough temptation, Oni loaded this campaign with extras. Backers can find rewards including a silkscreen travel poster, a metal Jake the Dog bookmark, stickers, variant covers, limited-edition comic reprints and original sketch covers from creators including Nick Winn, Caroline Cash and Brenda Hickey.
Oni Press Director of Business Development Sam Kusek described the campaign as a celebration of Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline and the rest of the crew, with both Land of Ooo and BMO limited-edition box sets available for collectors who want to go all-in. And yo, the creator lineup behind these comics is DEEP.
Across the collection you’ll find work from Chelsea Akpan, Austin Baechle, Corinth Boone, Box Brown, Kenzie Bugg, Kevin Cannon, Jorge Corona, Delilah S. Dawson, Marie Enger, John P. Golden, Christopher Hastings, Brenda Hickey, Mike Holmes, Beck Kubrick, Joey McCormick, Ian McGinty, Jorge Monlongo, Agustin Morales, Ryan North, Shelli Paroline, Braden Lamb, Marguerite Sauvage, Asia Simone, Zachary Sterling, Mariko Tamaki, Nick Winn and more. That’s not a guest list. That’s a damn roll call.
Oni is also bringing four key first issues back into circulation as facsimile editions. The set includes Adventure Time #1 from the original 2012 BOOM! Studios run by Ryan North, Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb; Adventure Time Comics #1 from 2016 featuring Art Baltazar, Katie Cook, Tony Millionaire and Kat Leyh; Oni Press’ Adventure Time #1 from 2025 by Nick Winn; and Fionna & Cake Card Wars #1, originally published in 2015, by Jen Wang and Britt Wilson. Then we get to the serious collector bait.
The Limited Edition Land of Ooo Box Set packs all six oversized hardcovers and their Kickstarter-exclusive slipcases into a special Land of Ooo travel box. The package also includes the Jake metal bookmark, an Adventure Time sticker set, the #1 reprints, two prints, a special rainbow foil edition of Adventure Time: The Bubbline College Special by Eisner Award winner Caroline Cash, plus five variant covers from Oni’s Adventure Time series, including difficult-to-find incentive covers. But Oni wasn’t finished.
The Limited Edition Land of BMO Box Set takes the same basic idea and cranks the collector meter another couple of clicks. All six oversized hardcovers come inside an exclusive BMO box alongside the Jake bookmark, stickers, #1 reprints, rainbow foil Bubbline College Special and five variant covers.
Then comes the wild card: backers at this level also receive an original piece of artwork from one of the series artists, with creators such as Nick Winn, Caroline Cash and Brenda Hickey among those mentioned by Oni. Now THAT is how you get the hardcore collectors looking at their wallets like, “Listen, we can eat ramen for a couple weeks.”
What I dig about this campaign is that Oni isn’t treating the comic history of Adventure Time like some little side note to the animated series. More than 15 years of comics is a serious body of work, with a ridiculous amount of talent passing through the Land of Ooo along the way. Putting that material together chronologically in oversized editions gives longtime readers something substantial while also giving newer fans one place to start digging through the comic side of this universe. Is it excessive? Fam… it’s Adventure Time. Excessive is practically part of the charm.
