New York Comic Con is turning 20, and ReedPop is making sure the people who build, market, report on and create pop culture have plenty of reasons to get to the Javits Center early.
NYCC 2026 has revealed its expanded professional programming lineup, bringing five days of panels, networking, workshops, industry conversations, private signings and career-focused sessions to New York City. The professional side of the convention kicks off Wednesday, October 7 with Retailer Day, one day before the main show opens October 8 through October 11.
The programming is built for professionals across comics, film and television, publishing, education, journalism, marketing, content creation and other corners of the entertainment industry. Most sessions will take place in the River Pavilion, with select programming also appearing on fan-facing stages throughout the Javits Center.
The third annual NYCC Retailer Day gets the professional slate moving on Wednesday, October 7 from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Pro Stage 1, followed by a cocktail party. The event is set to feature publisher presentations, industry conversations, creator signings and keynotes from Stephanie Phillips and Todd McFarlane, with speakers from Dark Horse, eBay, Ignition, Universal, Women in Comics Collective and more.
ICv2 will also return with its Insider Talks and Comic Industry Social Hour on Thursday, October 8. The special 20th anniversary edition will look at the future of graphic novels, manga and digital publishing, while giving industry professionals time to network and compare notes on where the business is heading next.
NYCC is adding more room for the business side of fandom with the Industry Summit and Mixer presented by Comics Sketch Art on Thursday night. The networking event will be open to industry badge holders, including Artist Alley, Writers Block, Pro Thursday, Pro 4-Day, Press, Content Creator, Exhibitor, Panelist and Sidekick badges.
Educators and librarians will also have dedicated professional development programming throughout the weekend. Sessions will explore subjects including graphic medicine, difficult history through comics, LGBTQ+ history, civic education and the use of sequential art as a teaching tool.
The Syndicate will curate a panel series aimed at professionals working in marketing, entertainment and live events. Topics include visual identity as world-building, the mechanics of superfan culture and the rapidly changing career path for modern comedians who increasingly have to operate as creators, marketers, podcasters and entrepreneurs at the same time.
Experience12 is also bringing the Popcultr Marketing Summit to NYCC, with sessions focused on changing audience behavior, trading card culture, in-person fan experiences and the kind of marketing that actually earns attention in an overcrowded media landscape.
One of the most interesting sessions for creators and entertainment professionals arrives Saturday with From Page to Screen: How TV Executives Acquire and Produce the Next Hit Series. Universal Studio Group executives Jordan Moblo, Kelsey Balance and Vivian Cannon will discuss how stories move from novels, comics, podcasts, games and other formats into television development. The session will be moderated by Dungeon Crawler Carl author Matt Dinniman, whose series is being adapted for Peacock.
New for 2026, NYCC is introducing a three-part Film Industry Masterclass Series led by professional prop makers and practical effects artists Robin Careless and Ian Campbell.
The first session, Breaking Into the Industry, will cover portfolios, networking, freelancing, unions, on-set expectations and career paths across costume fabrication, props, practical effects, writing, directing and related fields. Additional sessions will dive into practical sculpting techniques and special effects for independent horror productions.
For aspiring filmmakers who usually hear the phrase “break into the industry” without anybody explaining what the door actually looks like, this is the kind of programming that could deliver some real value.
NYCC’s Content Creator Collective returns with sessions designed for creators trying to sharpen their craft, grow an audience and build sustainable brands. Programming includes video editing tips, creator networking, gaming and fandom conversations, brand-building for people with full-time jobs and a session about maintaining healthy boundaries while creating online.
The “15-Minute Creator” session is specifically aimed at people who do not have a full production team or endless hours to feed the algorithm. The discussion will focus on faster content workflows, mobile editing, AI-assisted scripting and practical ways to turn a hobby into a more serious brand without pretending everybody has influencer-level resources.
For the first time, select Professional Programming panels will be opened to fans through NYCC’s Aspiring Professional Program on Saturday and Sunday. Fans with Single Day or 4-Day Weekend tickets will be able to reserve a limited number of spots for participating sessions beginning one week before the show. Pro and industry badge holders will not need reservations for those panels.
The professional programming lineup is available to Artist Alley, Writers Block, Pro Thursday, Pro 4-Day, Press, Content Creator, Panelist, Exhibitor and Sidekick badge holders.
The Harvey Awards also return to NYCC on Friday, October 9 in the River Pavilion. The long-running comics industry honors remain invite-only, continuing their annual presence at the convention.
ReedPop says the expanded slate is a response to the strong reception professional programming received last year, with NYCC continuing to position the show as more than a fan event. For creators, press, retailers, marketers, educators and entertainment professionals, the 2026 lineup gives the business side of pop culture a much bigger piece of the weekend.
Industry professionals can apply for a NYCC Professional Badge. More convention updates are available through the official New York Comic Con website.
NYCC 2026 takes over the Javits Center October 8-11, with Retailer Day launching the professional festivities on October 7. Twenty years in, the convention is still finding new ways to make the industry side of the show louder, smarter and more useful. The Crusade Never Ends!
