Conan the Barbarian #37: By Crom, This Wedding Heist Is About to Get UGLY!

·Al Mega

WEPAAAAAAAA! BY CROM, CRUSADERS, CONAN JUST GOT HIRED FOR THE WORLD’S MOST DANGEROUS WEDDING ERRAND!

Some people get invited to weddings. Some people crash weddings. And then there’s Conan the Cimmerian, who apparently gets paid to steal the bride. Welcome to Conan the Barbarian #37, where romance, riches and razor-sharp steel look ready to collide in the streets of Zamora.

Jim Zub returns to the writer’s chair, joined by artist Ivan Gil, for the start of a fresh story arc from Titan Comics and Heroic Signatures. The issue hits comic shops November 25, 2026, with a November 2 final order cutoff. It’s a 32-page, full-color adventure carrying a $4.99 cover price.

Here’s the setup: Conan is offered a handsome reward to spirit a young bride away from her noble family so she can marry her secret lover. Sounds simple, right? A little sneaking around, a little sword-swinging, collect the coin, head to the tavern. HA! Not in a Conan comic, baby.

Anybody who’s spent five minutes with the barbarian knows that a job advertised as easy is usually a trap wrapped in a bigger trap, with an angry army waiting around the corner. The announcement teases a price Conan may not be willing to pay. That means this isn’t merely a smash-and-grab mission; there’s a moral dilemma buried beneath the gold.

And that’s the Conan I love: not a walking muscle poster, but a dangerous survivor whose instincts are constantly tested by a world of nobles, schemers and people convinced they can buy his loyalty.

Zub understands the sword-and-sorcery engine: put Conan in a situation where every decision makes the next fight nastier, then let the consequences pile up. Gil’s arrival gives this new chapter a fresh visual partner, and the cover program brings additional firepower.

Roberto de la Torre handles the main cover, with additional variants from Fernando Dagnino, Ivan Gil, Human Kutub and Carlos Magno, plus specialty editions for collectors. If you’re a cover hunter, you’ve got choices. If you’re here for the story, the main event is a Cimmerian trying to survive the mess somebody else’s love life created.

Personally, I can’t stop laughing at the idea of Conan taking a gig that sounds like an ancient-world wedding planner’s worst nightmare. ‘Do you have the rings?’ ‘No, but I’ve got an axe.’ WEPA!
