The X-Files Returns to Comics This December at Dynamite

The truth is heading back to the comic shop. Dynamite Entertainment and Disney Publishing Worldwide are launching a new The X-Files comic series this December, with longtime franchise writer Joe Harris returning to the world of Mulder and Scully alongside artist R.D. Brown.

The series picks up after the events of the television episode “My Struggle IV,” with Fox Mulder and Dana Scully once again pulled into the FBI’s X-Files division. The new case follows reports of young people developing strange telekinetic abilities, while a shadowy group begins chasing the same phenomenon for its own purposes.

Harris is no stranger to the franchise. He has written dozens of X-Files comics over the years, and this new run brings him back into a continuity shaped by the later seasons of the television series. The story also revisits the larger alien conspiracy, including government interests and outside forces looking to exploit extraterrestrial secrets tied to biology, disease and longevity.

Dynamite is also rolling out a wide range of covers for the launch. Clayton Crain, Ivan Tao and Charlie Adlard are among the artists contributing, with additional photo, icon and blind-bag variants planned for collectors.

The X-Files #1 is listed for release on December 9, 2026. The issue is written by Joe Harris, illustrated by R.D. Brown, runs 32 pages and is rated Teen.
