Bad Idea is stacking some serious genre talent behind It Demands Sacrifice. Actor, writer and lifelong comics fan David Dastmalchian has joined Krysten Ritter and Danny Elfman in the voice cast for the publisher’s limited-edition Record Read-A-Long version of the new horror comic.
The project revives the classic comic-and-record packages of the 1970s. Each collectible edition pairs an exclusive comic with a 7-inch vinyl record featuring a performed version of the story, complete with character voices, score and sound effects designed to play alongside the pages.
Dastmalchian brings a particularly fitting résumé to the project. Beyond film and television roles across horror, superhero and science-fiction projects, he is also an established comics writer through books including Count Crowley. He joins previously announced voices Krysten Ritter and Danny Elfman, along with comic creators and industry figures including Brett Bean, Mike Carey, Shelly Bond, Tomás Giorello and Jorge Fornés.
Bad Idea says more voices are still to be announced, so the final cast is not complete yet.
It Demands Sacrifice #1 is written by Philip Gelatt and David Yarovesky, with art by Adam Pollina and colors by Dean White. The story follows Bronson, the smallest member of a family of goats, after a violent satanic cult invades the farm, abducts the animals and prepares them for a demonic ritual.
The regular comic is scheduled for October 7, 2026, with final orders due September 14. The vinyl read-along version is being produced as a limited collectible tied to the release.
Horror comics, celebrity voice talent and vinyl nostalgia in one package is a very specific kind of madness. In this case, that is absolutely the point.
