Indiana Jones Raids the Marvel Universe for Its Most Powerful Artifacts
·Juan James

Indiana Jones has chased the Ark of the Covenant, hunted the Holy Grail and survived enough cursed relics to know better. Naturally, Marvel is now sending him after some of the most dangerous artifacts in its entire universe.
A new lineup of Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts Variant Covers arrives this November, pairing the legendary archaeologist with Marvel relics that make ancient booby traps look downright reasonable. Artists Carmen Carnero, Marco Checchetto, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar and Iban Coello each put Indy on the trail of a different piece of Marvel history.
The five-cover series includes X-Men #41 by Carmen Carnero, Fantastic Four #19 by Marco Checchetto, Amazing Spider-Man #1004 by Sara Pichelli, Thor #803 by Mahmud Asrar and Venom #2 by Iban Coello. The artifacts in play include the Infinity Gauntlet, Mjolnir, the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, Knull’s All-Black the Necrosword and Doctor Doom’s iron mask.
Marvel issued a correction after the first announcement to confirm that Sara Pichelli’s cover is for Amazing Spider-Man #1004, not issue #4. The corrected artwork is the version being used here.
The covers arrive alongside a bigger push for Indiana Jones at Marvel. Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Book II collect classic material in deluxe hardcover editions, while The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1 is also getting a facsimile edition.
Then in February 2027, Marvel launches Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium #1, a five-issue series written by Jason Aaron with art by Aaron Kuder and covers by Bryan Hitch. The story is set after Raiders of the Lost Ark and kicks off a new era of original Indiana Jones comics.
The Marvel Artifacts variants begin rolling out November 11, with additional covers following November 18 and November 25.
