Uncle Scrooge Goes Full Christmas Carol in Marvel’s New Holiday Adventure

Wepa! Marvel and Disney are about to send the richest duck in comics on the one journey all that Money Bin gold cannot buy his way out of. UNCLE SCROOGE: A CHRISTMAS CAROL #1 arrives this holiday season, putting Scrooge McDuck through a wild spin on Charles Dickens’ classic while keeping the adventure, comedy and Duckburg madness fans love intact.

Legendary Marvel writer Louise Simonson takes the wheel alongside an all-star Disney art crew featuring Fabio Celoni, Francesco D’Ippolito, Paolo Mottura and Marco Mazzarello. The result sends Scrooge across the past, present and future after he chooses his beloved gold over Christmas and finds himself spending the holiday alone. Yeah, even the richest duck alive can apparently fumble Christmas.

Three magical adventures will force Scrooge to confront something considerably tougher than treasure hunters, villains or another financial crisis: his own priorities. Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Ludwig Von Drake, Gyro Gearloose and more join the ride as Scrooge discovers that maybe, just maybe, family is worth more than another mountain of coins.

For Simonson, the story hits home. She shared that Uncle Scrooge, Donald and the nephews were childhood favorites, with the Duck comics being the only books she ever subscribed to as a kid. Getting the opportunity to write Uncle Scrooge: A Christmas Carol, she said, became a genuine dream come true.

Adding even more old-school comic royalty to the package, Walter Simonson provides the main cover.

So yeah, mi gente, Scrooge is chasing treasure through time, getting visited by a little holiday reality check and probably learning the hardest lesson imaginable for the king of the Money Bin: some things simply do not have a price tag.
