BATMAN DAY 2026 WANTS THE WHOLE WORLD TO RULE THE NIGHT
·Al Mega

Wepaaaa, Crusaders. Batman Day 2026 is not doing the polite little anniversary thing this year. Warner Bros. Discovery and DC are turning September 19 into a full-on global Bat-signal, with screenings, comics, games, collectibles, livestreams, fan activations and enough Gotham energy to keep Bruce Wayne awake even longer than usual.
The theme is Rule the Night, and they are taking that literally. Events are planned across New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Milan, Berlin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Beijing and more, with rooftops, theaters, outdoor venues and fan spaces all getting pulled into the celebration.
The movie side is stacked too. Starting September 18, participating theaters including AMC, Regal and Cinemark will bring back Batman (1989), Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and The LEGO Batman Movie. If you have never seen Keaton’s Batman on the big screen or heard Shirley Walker’s Phantasm score blasting through a theater, this is a pretty damn good excuse.
Comics are getting real attention as well. Batman of Two Worlds arrives as a special Batman Day one-shot with a Batman story by Matt Fraction and Javi Fernández alongside an Absolute Batman story by Scott Snyder and Nick Derington. DC is also pushing new editions of Batman: Hush 2, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman ’89, and more.
Gaming fans are not getting left in the Batcave either. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18, while new DLC, Batman-themed mobile events, Twitch and YouTube programming and more roll out around the celebration.
Then there is the collector side. LEGO, Mattel, McFarlane Toys, Sideshow, Jazwares, New Era and a stack of other partners are dropping Batman gear throughout the month. Apparel, action figures, home goods, costumes, collectibles, even glow-in-the-dark products are all part of the push.
And this is not just a U.S. event wearing a “global” sticker. Latin America gets Batman night runs and Bat-Signal activations, Japan gets a Shibuya pop-up, Australia gets Oz Comic Con tie-ins, China gets a multi-day Beijing activation, and European cities are getting screenings, retail events and themed celebrations.
Batman has survived every kind of reinvention imaginable, and that is probably why a day like this works. You can show up for the comics, the games, the Burton movies, the Nolan trilogy, the animated series, Absolute Batman, the toys, or just because you think the Batmobile is still the coolest damn car ever designed.
Batman Day 2026 lands September 19. Gotham may be fictional, but DC is doing everything it can to make the whole world feel like it for one night.
