NYCC WANTS 686+ SPIDER-MEN IN ONE PLACE TO BREAK A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD
·Al Mega

Wepaaaa, fam. New York Comic Con is already chaos on a normal day, so naturally somebody looked at the Javits Center and said, “You know what this needs? More than 685 Spider-Men.”
Jazwares and Disney Consumer Products are teaming up at NYCC 2026 for an official Guinness World Records attempt to create the largest gathering of people dressed as Spider-Man. The current record stands at 685 participants, so the mission is simple: suit up, flood the place with red and blue, and make comic-con history.
The attempt goes down Thursday, October 8 at the NYCC Main Stage, with the official count expected around 8 PM ET. A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be on-site, so this is not some “we had a lot of Spider-Men and it felt like a record” situation. Somebody is actually counting masks.
Jazwares is helping fans get into the action by handing out complimentary Spider-Man costumes in adult and kids’ sizes while supplies last. Participants can also bring their own suits, but there are rules. The costume needs to represent a complete recognized Spider-Man look, including mask, boots, suit, web details and spider emblem. Alternate official comic or movie suits are welcome, but sorry Venom fans, this one is Spider-Man only.
Costume pickup begins at 1 PM ET at the Jazwares fan zone in the Javits Center Inner Roadway. Lineup for the record attempt begins at 6:30 PM in the Main Stage Queue Hall before the official count around 8. You will need a valid Thursday or 4-Day NYCC badge to participate.
Jazwares President Jeremy Padawer framed the stunt around what makes Spider-Man work in the first place: ordinary people stepping up to do something extraordinary. That might sound like PR language, but in this case it actually fits. A sea of hundreds of Spider-Men inside NYCC is the kind of ridiculous, joyful fandom moment conventions are supposed to create.
And let’s be real, this has viral-photo potential written all over it. If they break the record, you are getting one of those overhead shots that lives on social media for the entire weekend.

So yeah, Crusaders. If you ever wanted to stand in a room with hundreds of Spider-Men and somehow be the normal one because everybody else is dressed exactly like you, October 8 might be your moment.
