I PLAY ROCKY Reveals Official Poster as Anthony Ippolito Steps Into Sylvester Stallone’s Shoes

Yo, Crusaders, this one is wild in the best way.

Amazon MGM Studios has dropped the official poster for I PLAY ROCKY, the upcoming true-story drama about Sylvester Stallone’s all-or-nothing fight to get Rocky made with himself in the lead role.

Directed by Academy Award winner Peter Farrelly, the film stars Anthony Ippolito as Stallone and digs into the part of the story everybody knows in broad strokes but rarely gets to see up close: the unknown actor and writer who kept hearing no, kept betting on himself, and refused to sell the script unless he could play Rocky Balboa.

That is the hook here. This is not a remake of Rocky. It is the underdog story behind the underdog story, centered on Stallone’s decision to hold the line when practically every business instinct around him said to cash out and walk away.

The cast also includes AnnaSophia Robb, Toby Kebbell, P.J. Byrne, Jay Duplass, Kiki Seto, Matt Dillon, Stephan James, and Tracy Letts. The screenplay is by Peter Gamble, with Toby Emmerich, Christian Baha, Peter Farrelly, Paul Currie, and Michele Weiss producing.

I PLAY ROCKY opens in select theaters on November 6, 2026, with a wider theatrical release to follow in November.
