Crystal Lake Invades NYCC 2026 With Premiere Screening and Killer Cast Panel

WEPA, horror heads! New York Comic Con is about to get a whole lot colder, darker and considerably worse for anybody who thought a peaceful weekend at camp sounded like a good idea.

Peacock and A24 are bringing Crystal Lake straight to NYCC 2026 for an exclusive first-look screening of the premiere episode, followed by a live conversation with the people dragging one of horror’s most infamous bloodlines back into the spotlight. The event goes down Thursday, October 8 at 6:30 PM on the Empire Stage at the Javits Center.

This is not some five-minute sizzle reel and a wave from the stage, mi gente. NYCC attendees are getting the premiere episode before the series officially hits Peacock on October 15, followed by a conversation with series creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer Brad Caleb Kane and stars Linda Cardellini, William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom and Callum Vinson.

For longtime Friday the 13th fans, this one has some serious meat on the machete. Crystal Lake rewinds the mythology and centers Pamela Voorhees, played by Cardellini, nearly a year after the drowning of her young son Jason. Grief, buried history and a couple of strangers asking the wrong damn questions start cracking open the town’s past, setting the stage for the nightmare horror fans already know is waiting down the road.

And yes, young Jason Voorhees is part of the equation, with Callum Vinson stepping into the role. That alone should have the Empire Stage packed like somebody announced free hockey masks at the door.

The teaser already makes it clear that Peacock and A24 are not treating this like a nostalgia victory lap. The series is digging into Pamela, Jason and the emotional rot underneath Crystal Lake before the legend became a franchise-spanning killing machine. Putting the premiere in front of an NYCC crowd one week before the streaming debut is a bold move, and it instantly makes this one of Thursday’s must-watch horror events.
