Gamestation Retro Go Preorders Open: 200+ Classic Games

Yo, somebody at My Arcade® clearly woke up and decided our childhood needed another shot at our wallets! The company is bringing some serious old-school gaming goodness with the Gamestation Retro Go, a portable handheld packing more than 200 officially licensed games from Bandai Namco, CAPCOM, Jaleco, and Piko Interactive. Preorders are officially open at GameStop and EB Games Canada, with the system priced at $199.99 USD and scheduled to arrive this holiday season.
Now, before you start screaming about another retro handheld hitting the market, peep this lineup, fam! We’re talking PAC-MAN, GALAGA, DIG DUG, RALLY-X, MAPPY, Street Fighter II, Mega Man, Final Fight, Strider, Bionic Commando, and 1942, all hanging out in one portable machine. That’s a whole lot of arcade history right there, especially for those of us who remember walking into an arcade with five bucks and leaving broke, sweaty, and convinced we could beat that one kid who wouldn’t get off the Street Fighter machine.
First unveiled at CES 2026, the Gamestation Retro Go is part of My Arcade’s new Gamestation Retro collection, rocking the tagline “Legendary Games Unite.” CAPCOM fans have plenty to get excited about, including six versions of Street Fighter II and multiple Mega Man games. Throw in additional titles from Jaleco and Piko Interactive, and you’ve got a library that reaches beyond the usual handful of classics we’ve seen repackaged about a thousand times already.
Let’s talk hardware because nostalgia alone ain’t paying that $199.99 price tag, papi! The Gamestation Retro Go comes equipped with an 8-inch high-resolution display, a rechargeable battery offering approximately four to five hours of gameplay, and built-in Wi-Fi for updates. You also get game-saving functionality, which means you can finally walk away from a tough level without losing your progress like we did back when saving meant leaving the console running and praying nobody touched the power button.
One of the more interesting features is My Arcade’s patented SmartGlow® technology, which illuminates the controls needed for whatever game you’re playing. That’s actually a pretty clever touch, especially when you’re bouncing between different arcade classics with different control schemes. Instead of mashing every button like your cousin who swears he’s nice at fighting games, the system helps you figure out what you’re supposed to press.
Want to bring the action to your television? No problem, because the Retro Go also supports HDMI output, allowing you to move the experience from its handheld screen to your living room. It supports one or two players, although you’ll need additional controllers, sold separately, for multiplayer action. My Arcade also includes an HDMI cable, charging cable, AC adapter, and user guide, so at least they’re not making you hunt down every accessory separately.
Now here’s where I gotta keep it a buck with the fam. Two hundred games sounds fantastic, but at $199.99, the actual gaming experience needs to deliver. The library has some undeniable heavy hitters, and that 8-inch display is certainly appealing, but button quality, screen performance, emulation accuracy, and overall comfort will determine whether this thing earns its place in your collection. Nostalgia gets my attention, but good hardware gets my money!
Still, I can’t front, there’s something beautiful about seeing PAC-MAN, Mega Man, and Street Fighter II sharing the same portable playground. For gamers who grew up feeding quarters into arcade cabinets, or younger players curious about the classics that helped build this industry, the Gamestation Retro Go could be a fun little time machine. Whether it’s worth the asking price remains to be seen, but My Arcade definitely has our attention.
The Gamestation Retro Go is available for preorder now for $199.99 USD, with its launch planned for the 2026 holiday season. You can reserve yours through GameStop or EB Games Canada. Now tell me something, Crusaders: If you could fire up ONE classic arcade game right now, what would it be? I’m already hearing that Street Fighter II announcer in my head, and somebody’s about to catch these virtual hands!
