Storm King Comics Brings John Carpenter Horror to NYCC 2026
·Al Mega

Wepaaaaaaa, horror fam! Storm King Comics is pulling up to New York Comic Con 2026 looking like they plan to turn Booth #3417 into its own little nightmare zone, and I mean that with love. Sandy King is bringing creators, new books, signings, exclusives and enough John Carpenter-connected goodness to make you completely forget you were supposed to be somewhere else in the Javits. From October 8 through October 11, this is one of those booths horror fans are gonna want circled before the show even starts.
And the creator lineup? Yeah, they came to work. Sandy King will be joined by Federico De Luca, Sian Mandrake, Jan Duursema, Jack Mandrake, Andrea Mutti, Cat Staggs, Brad and Reverend Wesley Sun, and Matthew K. Manning. That is a whole lot of talent packed into one spot. If your NYCC mission is to actually meet the people behind the books instead of spending half your day trapped in a merch line wondering where your life went wrong, Storm King is giving you a damn good reason to make that stop.
Now let’s talk about the Carpenter bait, because come on, you know that’s gonna get people moving. John Carpenter’s Cathedral is front and center, with three versions of the book available, including variants featuring artwork by Francesco Francavilla and Luis Guaragna. One of those editions even comes paired with a limited vinyl pressing of the companion album, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes collectors start doing math they absolutely did not plan on doing that morning.
Cat Staggs is bringing some heat too, with posters celebrating The Thing, They Live and Big Trouble in Little China, plus an NYCC-exclusive variant for the John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 6-10 deluxe box set paying tribute to Michael Myers. Horror heads, Carpenter fans, collectors, this booth is basically screaming your name already.
Storm King is not just leaning on the Carpenter name either. Their 2026 lineup has plenty going on. Cathedral, co-written by John Carpenter, Sandy King and Sean Sobczak, drops a police investigation into an abandoned Los Angeles cathedral hiding some seriously nasty ancient evil. Chaplain, from Brad and Rev. Wesley Sun with Raúlo Cáceres, drags supernatural horror into a hospital setting, while Sian Mandrake keeps the blood flowing with Blood of the Taken Book 3: Dearly Departed.
Then you’ve got Red Riding: Rise of the Alpha Huntress from Neo Edmund and Jan Duursema, plus Duane Swierczynski’s murder mystery Dead Flowers. That gives Storm King a pretty nasty spread of horror, supernatural chaos, mystery and creator-driven books to dig through. Basically, if you walk away from Booth #3417 empty-handed, that sounds like a personal problem.
Comic Crusaders will be at NYCC 2026 doing what we do best, talking to creators, chasing stories, finding the cool stuff and absolutely destroying our feet in the process. Add Storm King Comics to the map, Crusaders. Booth #3417 is looking like one of those stops where the horror crowd is gonna feel right at home.
Wepa! The Crusade Never Ends!
KEEP THE CRUSADE GOING
