The Art of Splatoon 3 Packs 400 Pages of Ink-Splattered Nintendo Goodness

The Art of Splatoon 3 is officially up for preorder, and this thing is a 400-page hardcover brick of characters, gear, weapons, maps, modes, comics and behind-the-scenes development goodness.

Dark Horse Books will release The Art of Splatoon 3 on December 1, 2026. The oversized 8.5-by-12-inch hardcover dives deep into Nintendo’s colorful shooter with artwork from the game, storyboards, comics, development material and commentary from the Squid Research Lab.

The book covers returning and debut characters alongside the absurdly stylish gear and weapon designs that help give Splatoon its identity. Fans will also get looks at maps, gameplay modes, concept work and storyboards, which is where art books like this really earn shelf space. Finished game assets are cool, but seeing how the visual language evolved before everything became final is the good stuff.

Splatoon 3 launched in 2022 and went on to win Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards that year, followed by an Award for Excellence at the 2023 Japan Game Awards.
