Festival winner “Lost with You” seeks to open dialogue and unite audiences with opposing views
Fishbowl Films announced today that its award-winning romantic drama Lost With You is now available for rental and purchase at lostwithyou.com. Written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Mike Southerly, the film stars Jake Short (“Dexter”, “A.N.T. Farm”) and Madison Shamoun (“All American”, “Black-ish”) as two strangers whose chance encounter on a Hollywood hiking trail becomes an unexpected emotional journey.
Written and directed by Mike Southerly, “Lost With You” was produced by Peter Frintrup of Flickering Duck Productions and Cedric St. Clair, with James Hale serving as executive producer.
“Lost With You came from a very simple question,” said Southerly. “Could two people who seem completely opposed — politically, culturally, emotionally — spend a day together and somehow find their way toward each other? At a time when it feels easier than ever to write people off, I wanted to make a movie about listening, laughing, disagreeing, and still choosing connection.”
“This is my first feature, and we made it in the most honest way possible — small crew, real locations, two actors, one trail, and a lot of heart,” Southerly added. “I wanted to strip the movie down to the essentials: two people walking, talking, challenging each other, and slowly realizing that being truly seen by another person can still feel miraculous.”
