Greg Weisman Returns to Unleash Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1 | Comic Crusaders Podcast #738

The defenders of the night are spreading their wings once again as legendary storyteller Greg Weisman returns to the Comic Crusaders Podcast for an all-new conversation with host Al Mega. This time, the discussion centers on Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1, the next in-continuity chapter in Dynamite Entertainment’s ongoing expansion of the beloved animated universe.

Set in 1997, the new series finds the Manhattan Clan recommitting itself to protecting the helpless throughout New York City. That heroic calling is soon overwhelmed by a deeply personal emergency when a Gargoyle egg disappears. As the Clan desperately searches for answers, an ancient and immensely powerful evil awakens with a score to settle. Written by Weisman and illustrated by rising artist Gerardo Gambone, the 32-page debut issue is scheduled to reach comic shops on August 12, 2026.

During the interview, Weisman takes the conversation beyond nostalgia and explores the creative challenges of advancing a mythology that has remained meaningful to fans for more than three decades.
