Mike Mignola Launches B.P.R.D.: Declassified With a Supernatural Mission to Hawaii

Mike Mignola is opening another classified file in the Hellboy universe. B.P.R.D.: Declassified reunites Mignola with writer Chris Roberson and artist Mike Norton for a new five-issue supernatural mystery sending agents Susan Xiang and Victor Koestler to Honolulu, Hawaii.

Written by Mignola and Roberson with art by Norton and colors by Dave Stewart, the series pulls a larger occult cold war out of the background and puts it directly in the spotlight. Roberson says the story will reveal that the B.P.R.D. is far from the only player moving pieces across the supernatural board.

Susan Xiang was last seen investigating her family’s connection to the Golden Crane Society in 2025’s The Shadow of the Golden Crane. This time she teams with astral-projecting agent Victor Koestler to investigate the disappearance of Henry Rouch, who vanished while working overseas on a classified government project.

The supernatural circumstances bring the Bureau into the case, but the missing-person investigation quickly turns into something much bigger. Norton says the story gave him the chance to draw things he had never even considered putting on a page before.

B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1 arrives February 17, 2027 with a main cover by Norton and a variant by Gabriel Hardman. Later issues will feature variants from Christopher Mitten, Craig Rousseau, Michael Avon Oeming and others.
