The little knight with the giant heart is back. Dark Horse Comics has revealed a first look inside Canto: The Clockwork Chronicles #1, launching an all-new ongoing series from writer David M. Booher, artist Drew Zucker, colorist Vittorio Astone, and letterer AndWorld Design.
This new chapter sends Canto across the Mechanical Sea and into the mysterious Forgotten Isles, where jungle life collides with strange machines and the disappearance of the Forgotten People hangs over the adventure. Before Canto can solve that mystery, disaster strikes his best friend Mico the Malorex, putting the little hero’s courage to the test.
The issue is designed as both a continuation for longtime readers and a clean jumping-on point for newcomers. Since debuting in 2019, Canto has built its following around courage, friendship, and a hero who refuses to let his size decide how much good he can do.
Canto: The Clockwork Chronicles #1 features a main cover by Drew Zucker and Vittorio Astone, variants by Duncan Fegredo and Mr. Oz, and the first of six “vintage pulp” incentive covers by Lukas Ketner. The issue goes on sale November 18, 2026, with final order cutoff set for October 12.
NYCC heads-up: Drew Zucker will be attending New York Comic Con 2026 from October 8-11. Writer David M. Booher is scheduled for LA Comic Con later in the month, October 30 through November 1.
Readers can pre-order through their local comic shop or head to Dark Horse Comics for more information.
