Red Roots, Vol. 1 Collects Lorenzo De Felici’s Supernatural Mystery This Fall
·Juan James

If you grew up loving comics that made you lean closer to the page because you just knew something weird was hiding in the shadows, Red Roots is aiming straight at that part of the brain.
Image Comics is collecting the first five issues of Lorenzo De Felici’s genre-bending supernatural mystery in Red Roots, Vol. 1, a 176-page trade paperback landing in comic shops on October 21, 2026.
De Felici, already familiar to readers from Oblivion Song, Void Rivals, and Kroma, handles both writing and art here, which gives the book that deliciously dangerous feeling of one creator steering the whole haunted wagon. The story follows a professional killer and a high school teacher whose lives become tangled together by a terrifying force neither of them fully understands.

The pitch has some serious late-night-comic-shop energy. Think puzzle-box mystery, dark fantasy, supernatural dread, and the kind of escalating weirdness that makes you say, “Okay, one more issue,” at 1:30 in the morning. Image is comparing the tonal collision to The Mist, The Cabin in the Woods, and De Felici’s own Oblivion Song, which is a pretty wild cocktail to pour into one glass.
Robert Kirkman has already thrown major love behind the series, calling it a shining example of what comics can be at their best. That is a big endorsement, but Red Roots has also been building momentum on its own through strong reader response and multiple sellouts during its single-issue run.
The collection gathers Red Roots #1-5 and carries ISBN 9781534330603. After the comic-shop release, the trade is scheduled to reach bookstores and major book retailers on November 17, 2026. It will also be available digitally across platforms including Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play, Kobo, Hoopla, and more.
For readers who like their horror comics strange, stylish, and just a little mean to the nervous system, this one looks like prime long-box material. De Felici has already proven he can build worlds that feel enormous and dangerous. Now he gets to pull readers down into one of his own mysteries from page one.
